Problem with iPad keyboard since update?

Hello! I'm wondering if this is common? Can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Ever since the ios6 update I've been having a problem with my virtual, touch screen keyboard. The comma should be a quotation mark when held down.Tr question mark should be a double quotation mark when held down. Both show me a little pop up of what they SHOUlD be. But instead they just do commas and periods. Help?

IPad Internet Problem? - 1

I got an iPad for my birthday, the problem is I don't have internet connection in my house. I am not subscribed to Verizon, Optimum, Time Warner or any internet provider, my parents are too cheap to subscribe. My friends told me to connect to unsecured networks, however once I connect I am taken to a web page and have to log in to the network owners account, locking me out and prohibiting me from using the internet. Basically I want to know what my options are? What is 3G? With 3G, am I able to connect to the internet no matter where I am?

When I am typing on my IPAD keyboard how do I?

"capitalize" the numbers key? For example if I want @ rather than 2 is there a way for me to get it? When I makeup passwords I sometimes use the symbol rather than the number, but I have memorized the numbers and not the symbols… hope this sort of makes sense?
