I have an ipad2 which is almost a year old, but is still under warranty. Sometimes the home button doesn't work, but sometimes it works fine. If I take it into an apple store will they fix it for me, even although I can't exactly prove that there's a problem as it works fine some of the time? Don't want to bother going into town if they'll just tell me to go away!
