Wifi says it's connected but we can't use the Internet, what's wrong?

So we have a router/modem that's only a few years old, and it was working fine just a few hours ago. Two iPhone 5S, an iPad, and a Mac, none of them can access the Internet. It says it's connected to wifi on all of them though. We turned off the router and turned it back on, checked all the cords for cat damage; nothing is working. The light labeled Internet on the router is flashing, and the WLAN light is just off. We aren't really tech savvy, so we don't know what else we could try (other than just resetting the router to factory settings, which we want to avoid trying). Any advice from non-tech dummies? How to safely connect multiple devices to one plug socket/extension cord?

So basically I'm wanting to surprise my mum and redecorate the living room for her. It will probably happen early 2017 as I need to save up and plan ahead, which is partly the reason I'm asking this question.
So basically there is one double plug socket behind the TV it has one extension cord connected already, one double behind the sofa, which already has one extension cord connected.
I want to buy a new TV, and maybe try and mount it onto the wall in the corner, but maybe this would expose all the cords behind the TV so I still haven't decided. I also need to keep the sky box connected but I will be adding a HDMI switcher and connecting a Sky box, a new Xbox, Playstation & Apple TV and maybe a DVD Player but that may not be needed as there is already thr Xbox and PS, or I will get a TV with mounted DVD player.
Next to where my mum sits there will be a docking station for her iPad the docking station is new and I will possibly be adding the Sonos system for surround sound for her TV and Music.
But because there is so much new electrical devices being installed, I need to know how all these devices can safely be connected without the plug socket blowing up, or setting the house on fire. She is quite up to date with technology, if I show her how to work something she will pick it up really easily so I'm not worried about wasting my money.

The 90's kid debate (1990-1999 are 90 kids)?

First, of all I don't care, but I want to get something out. I was born in 1999. I asked, this question Cultures and Groups, now I'm asking it in Polls and Surveys.

1990-1999 are 90's kid, simple. You guys born in '80-89 say you have to grow up in the 90's to be a 90's kid. Here is an example a boy was born in St. Louis but he grew up in NYC, what does that make him a St. Louisan or a New Yorker, he's a St. Louisan, he was born in St. Louis, that is what is on his passport not NY, yes he grew up there but he is not officially from there. If you was born in the 80's, it doesn't say 1990, 1991 etc, it says 1980, 1981,1982 etc.

Also, if you have to be a 90's kids to experience the technology and music and tv shows, that makes no sense. If I was born in the 1940's (ex. Bill Clinton) and I love the technology and music of the 90's and I watched all the tv shows, what does that make me a 90's kid, heck no. People born in the 70's can't be 90's kids either because you guys were old enough to have kids born in the 90's

Alot of you born in the 80's say you also have to be politically involved in the 90's to be a 90's kid. The only people born in the 80's that were able to vote in the 90's, is if you were born in 1980 and 1981. If you were born in 1982-1989, the only politically involved you could get was in school. Also, you 23-32 year old need to get off the internet and talking to people younger than them and telling them that they are not apart of sometime that they are.

What, if there was no 1990's, when they year 1989 reached, there was no year other than 1989, the years kept on being 1989, you are an 80's kid, you were born in the 80's. The same thing, if you born in the 90's and there was no 2000's, the years kept on being 1999, you are a 90's kid, you were born in the 90's. Also, some of you born in the 80's are pathetic, wanting to go back to being a kid, you lazy *** pricks, enjoy being a adult and not having to be under the rule of adults. You pricks.

1960-1969 are 60's kids
1970-1979 are 70's kids
1980-1989 are 80's kids
1990-1999 are 90's kids
2000-2009 are 00's kids
2010-2019 are 10's kids
2020-2029 are 20's kids
If you had to grow up with the technology, you guys are stupid. YouTube was created in 2005 and you guys born in the 80's are using it are you guys, 00's kids, no, you guys are 80's kids. You guys born in the 80's will have iPads, the iPad came out in 2010 and you guys use the iPad are you guys 10's kids,no, U R 80's kids.

Why are people born in the 90's not considered 90's kids, even though they are?

Here's my opinion: I am sorry you guys do not consider people born in 1990-1999, "90's kids", or at least by your definition, but you just have to suck it up and live with it because we are in fact 90's kids weather you like it or not. That is the technical, politically correct term. The 90's kids group includes everyone born and has lived at least one year in the 20th century period.

BTW, I'm not trying hard, you sly people, I'm not.
