Why is Minecraft PE 0.9.0 crashing?

The new update 0.9.0 is amazing on the iPad but on my iPod touch 4th gen it keeps crashing, I guess due to bugs. Is there going to be a big fix update and/or how do I prevent my game from continually crashing?
