Is an iPad easy and fun to use for an elderly person?

My grandpa was recently recommended he get an iPad. I'm not sure whether or not it would be a good idea for him to get one, however. He, like most elderly people, have a hard time understanding modern technology, and I'm afraid the iPad will be too high -tech him. I just don't want him wasting hundreds of dollars on something he won't use or understand.

Prioritise iTunes downloads on iPad?

Hello, Im going on holiday in a few hours and I have multiple things I want to download directly to my iPad before I set off. There are some films which I would rather have over the TV shows.Is there anyway to prioritise my downloads? So I can just leave my iPad on over night, giving it a higher chance of downloading the things I would prefer to have.

How to get my music back? (Revised)?

So about two years ago I got an iPad. I had about 1000 songs on my computer, so I synced them all to my iPad. 90% of them were from CDs that I uploaded onto my laptop. About a year ago, my laptop broke and all it's memory was lost.So now I have this iPad with 1000 songs. How can I get my data (music, pictures, apps) onto my computer without losing all the music that I didn't buy from iTunes? (I don't want to upload all the CDs again)

I think my son wants me dead! - 1

I have a 6 year old aspergers ADHD son he is average size and he is literally trying to kill me I've had to lock myself in the bathroom right now because he is trying to get me while his dad is trying to calm him down, I'm actually in floods of tears I can be laying in bed in the morning having a cup of tea and he will just climb on me and start punching me slapping me and stamping on my face and neck. He says he wants me dead and that he hates me! I don't know what to do, today I was talking with nephews who are also 6 and he came running in and slapped me across the face! So I put him in his bedroom and said very calmly to calm down! I shouldn't have said that I should have just left because before I knew it he has me around my neck punching me in the face I fall to the floor where he stamps on my face and neck I have got 2 black eyes and a busted lip :( this is getting to much for me now.As a result of his anger he has broken my nose twice I now need corrective surgery and broken 4 of my ribs and the worse one properly is the 4 stitches where he stabbed me with a screw driver one of our workmen left out. I know this all seems a bit much but most of the time he is a nice boy plays nice with us, tells us jokes, does well at school, he does have off days at school but these are becoming more rare. I've tried loads of ways to get him to stop
I've taken away toys

Grounded him
Ignored the behaviour
Tried more mind stimulating things like Puzzles and he even has an iPad that his workers suggested
Ds games
Xbox
None of these worked, he has senco, family out reach, parent support advisors, and now even a therapist working with him they are all baffled to the bone about what to do so this is my last hope to ask you the parents if you had to deal with this how did u manage to stop your child? I know this is a long process and I'm willing to do whatever it Takes,

My mom bought me a universal 10" tablet case today but the problem is… I don't own any electronic device for like ebook or iPad. She even knows this but claimed it was markdowned for $3 and said "Hope you can find some use for this." I love the cover design but I don't know what to do with it.

I was thinking just using it as an oversized pencil bag but I'm still looking for ideas.

How to transfer videos from my computer to my iPad?

I am trying to transfer about 45 videos from my computer to my iPad.So, I went onto Itunes and told them to transfer the pictures and videos from the folder I had it all saved in. However, it only transferred the pictures, not the videos. PLEASE HELP! Thanks for ANYTHING! :)

I found this website called Ashtriadagiveaway.com and many people have seemed to recommend it.It claims to give free iPads, and I'm a bit skeptical.Is it a legit website? Has anybody actually gotten an iPad from them? if so, how long did it take to arrive? Added (1). Hi, I'll try the itune idea.As for other responses of attaching a pic to an email and sending it to myself and then open on the desktop and save the pic… No option is available to attach or send a pic.It is just not possible. I'll keep trying. Cheers guys

How to restore my iPad with a forgotten password with the latest update of iTunes?

I have tried to connect my iPad to iTunes to restore it to factory settings so I could reset the password. When I plug it into the computer iTunes says it can not access my iPad because it is pass code locked. When this comes up it does not give me the choice to click on the iPad to try and restore it. How to learn GCSE geography!

My teacher went on maternity leave in January and I am not sure when she is going to be back but definitely not for another year and a bit. This means we have a supply who CANNOT TEACH! It's not even that he's a bad teacher, he just does not teach. He messed up our controlled assessment by giving us the wrong questions, which was 25% of the GCSE, and now he's refusing to even teach us. For the past half term we have been teaching ourselves. He literally just told us to look in the textbook, make some notes and learn it without giving us any guidance so that he could play on his ipad for the rest of the lessons. I am in year 10 and it's been a whole term and we have not learnt a thing! I asked him if he was going to teach us it, and he just said that we are learning it ourselves now. If you ask him a question he just says he does not know and doesn't even attempt to see if he can find the answer. There is sooo much which we need to have covered and we have not done ANYTHING! He is totally ridiculous and he told us that over the holidays we have to learn a whole 1/4 of our GCSE on our own with no help from him what so ever. We are paying thousands of pounds for someone to literally sit and play on his ipad. He is going to effect my future as these exams mean everything. Any tips on how to learn it? thanks x

Havnt had period in so long!

Im 15. The last time I had my period was around January. I'm not super worried about it being irregular because since I'm young and just started having periods they should be irregular, first time Igot my period was on Christmas in 2011. I'm not pregnant I promise, I have no eating disorders I'm pretty tall but average weight. The past couple months I have been frequently using the iPad, I'll lay in bed with it on my pelvis, could the radiation affect anything? Or just in general no relation to my memstrual cycle, could i be getting lots of radiation? I have had stress, I'm kind active, I am very active once a week. I don't have any pain down there. I was born in 1983 before the internet and cell phones. I think children born after 1995 don't know anything about the world other than techology (cell phones, the internet, laptops, tablets, ipads, digital cameras, and ipods). I remember life before all these when I was in 4th grade back in 1993. There was only a TV, a vcr, casette deck, and a landline back then 20 years ago. I think todays youth are being too papmered with technology and the internet.

Should I worry that my partner watches porn?

My partner of 8 years cheated on me a couple of months ago, (with a much older woman). He has always watched porn, sometimes we watched together, but not any more. He watches it on his own in the bathroom, then deletes the history, but I can still see what he's been watching as he uses the iPad.

My IPad keeps on turning off?

Lately my ipad has been turning off for no reason! I'll be in the middle of something and it would have like 7% left and all of a sudden it just turns off! Id press the button to make it turn back on and it gives that sign that indicates that its out of charge.Id put it back on charge for a few seconds and it would magically turn back on and instead of saying 1% or 2% of charge it would be back to 7% as it said it was when it turned off. How do i fix this? And more importantly, whats going on? Its an Ipad 3 by the way, and its up to date. Please help!

After taking out contacts vision is great. But sometimes contact help. Why?

I have been to the eye doctor multiple times now. I have tried to tell them this but I feel like they just are trained to think I need glasses. Here is the deal.My near vision seemed to be getting worse. Thought just normal aging (I'm 45). I have always had outstanding vision.So, I never could get multifocal contacts to work great. I spend a LOT of time at a computer or iPad etc.My eyes seem maybe like they are tired? Anyway, I just recently went back to eye doctor and got some new contacts. They seemed to help today (haven't been wearing contacts for awhile.) I needed to take them out at the end of the night. Eyes seemed tired of them. Low and behold when I took them out I could see GREAT… close up and far.So I am wondering if I don't need glasses just need to adjust get computer glasses or something. I can't seem to find an eye doctor that will tell me this… they say aging. But the trouble is sometimes vision is just blurry and eyes are kinda watery/itchy which I think causes the blurring? I know this is confusing but so is what is going on. I just can't help but think the computer has something to do with it if taking out my contacts after wearing all day makes my vision perfect again. With them in, things are mostly clearer but I have to put in drops a lot!

I don't want them to be able to listen to my music and stuff… So how do I turn off iCloud? What will happen if I delete iCloud? I don't want my music on the iPad or IPhone!!! Help someone took my ipad 2?

Well the thing is I had people over and I "lost" my iPad 2 and I have it set up with verizon.So coincidentally the next day someone got a new iPad 2 but he had already reset to factor settings and i know he was the one that took it is there any way to tell he took it and get my iPad back even after he reset it … it was my bad cause I never put a passcode but from now on I will so could someone help me figure out how I could get it back and also for future reference if I use icloud and someone resets it would I still be able to keep track of it or no? And also he is moving in 2daysacross the us so is there anything at all that could prove that one is mine please help I got it from my grandpa so please if there is any way I. can get it back please help

I am being told that I need to exercise more.My mom goes out for walks, and she is 110 pounds. I'm 161 pounds, and I don't feel like exercising, I would rather be on my ipad typing away. I am aware that if I don't exercise or change my diet, that I could gain more weight, and be at risk for medical ailments linked to weight gain such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and high cholesterol.

It's just so hard.My cousin once weighed 316 pounds, but he lost a total of 101 pounds in 3 years. He attributes that to never giving up, and he has more self confidence than I do.

I'm feeling down on myself and I don't want to die. I need some help.

Hey so I'm sorta confused weather this guy likes me or not. He likes/liked my best friend Aria but we're not sure anymore. How dangerous is cellphone and iPad radiation?

I just got into an argument with my dad on how dangerous cellphone radiation actually is. The thing is that i sleep with my cellphone (trying not to sound like a scumbag, but i have an iPhone) and my iPad, usually they're both on charging, next to my pillow, throughout the night (whilst i sleep).

The reason to why, is that i use my iPhone as an alarm clock, an i use my iPad for netflix (watching an episode how i met your mother or so, before sleep).

I know that both of those devices use electro magnetic radiation, more spesifically microwaves, which consist of the lowest amount of energy pr. Photon. And, this is not yet proven, but my dad inists if that i continue like this, i'm in danger of getting cancer. I think i should reduce this type of usage (put the iPad elsewhere, and my iPhone on the floor or such). What do you think on this given topic?

What do I do if my iPad won't charge?

So I've had my iPad for a couple months now and when I first got it and after a while it was charging fine.It's only just started having problems charging for some weeks now and I'm not really sure what to do. I've tried loads of things like cleaning the plug, the socket and the adapter but it's still not working. When I plug the charger into the place on the iPad for it to charge, it shows the electricity sign to show it's charging but then it lasts for a few seconds and goes off and says it's not charging. Right now it's only got 4% battery and it keeps on switching off completely because it's so low battery. Can someone please help me?

Simpsons tapped out taking too long to install?

I just downloaded simpsons tapped out and I went into the app and it said 'installing updates' and it needs to download 200MB and its taking way too long so I just left it and after a while my iPad locked and it had to start installing updates all over again! And it just keeps happening, I don't think I have the patience to sit there and keep the screen lit up and wait 30 minutes to finish installing. Anyone else having this problem too? Or am I supposed to wait 30 minutes for it to install? Any help would be amazing thanks :) my iPad isn't jail broken or anything and my wifi works fast too. Please help!

Wifi sd card for photo frame?

My aunt is in hospital and we want to give her up my photo frame but if we wanted to put new pictures on it we would have to take it home and resync it with the desktop. I have an ipad with photostream on it and I was wondering if it were possible if i could somehow set up a photostream with a wifi enabled sd card (if they exist) so if we want to put new photos onto the photo frame we just have to add photos to the sd cards's photostream and they appear.Is this possible?

Why doesn't every school use iPads and laptops?

Why do they just enforce that we bring a school bag with piles of books, copies, exam papers, paper, sheets, etc. Especially for someone like me with adhd who can type much faster than writing. I don't even have to look at the keyboard to type. All we would have to do is bring in one laptop/ipad to school and that would be it.No heavy bags no organisation hellish problems. But no schools ban all freakin technology because it's a 'distraction' well news flash: half the fudging class are day dreaming and can't concentrate because their BORED so your really just making the situation worse? And we wouldn't have an excuse of forgetting copies/books because it wouldn't happen/couldn't. Why do schools only care about being strict? Why can't we just go there to learn without pretty much all technology being banned? It really pisses me off all I want is an education.

I know it's up to me but I want some advice. I bought an iPad 2 for $400 plus tax back in August.It was originally for college but it turns out to be terrible for notes and I strongly dislike mobile games. I don't use many apps besides a few of the original ones. I quit college for now and haven't decided whether I'll go back. Since all I used it for was to check email really, I can do that others ways and thus don't need it. Also, I don't have wireless at home so it's been sitting for the past three months.

Should I sell it?

What does it mean when you dream of a song?

I dreamed up a song and this song isnt any song I have ever heard before.however I do find it quite beautiful sounding. I tried looking up the lyrics thinking perhaps I had overheard it from somewhere or something but found nothing even close… here are the lyrics that I was able to hear.

And that's where I woke up. When i was hearing the song I was seeing an image of a girl that made me think it was me but yet it wasn't me at the same time. I wish I had my alesis micron cords so that i might record the melody. Or my ipad.but I don't.So I will likely forget the melody pretty soon.but it was a lovely tune.

When I think of the song it makes me kind of sad in a way. What does it mean when people dream songs that no one else has ever heard of?

I mean it could be that my mind is just as much creative in dreamland (if not more so actually) as it is in reality. Maybe I do not do enough creative things through out the day and it has caused a build up and came out in my dreams lol.i dunno.

I very recently got an iPad 3, but sadly I'm a little confused on what dot do with it… I remember staring at it for months dreaming about all the fun I will have with it, but now I have it I feel like I can't do much, except annoy Siri.

How to reset my iPad restrictions password?

I got an IPad only about 4 months ago, I was exploring the settings and put a password on the restrictions setting, I don't remember what it is, i have tried previous passwords but that won't work, I have 11 failed attempts now, there was a setting I wanted to change but I couldn't because I needed to enter the password! Will it harm my ipad to have it on charge for a month?

I have stupidly left my ipad at our holiday home abroad, on charge. Nobody will be there for a month..i am worried it will damage it? any ideas? thankyou.xx

URGENT! I need tips?

I asked this question before, but one only one person answered. Tomorrow at about 10am, my mom, brother, great aunt, and I are leaving on a six hour drive to my second cousins house in North Carolina. The next day, we are going to have to drive6-8 ours to my great aunt and uncles house. When we leave Atlanta a week later, we could possibly be driving the straight 12-14 hours home. We will be taking my mother's 2006 Toyota Sienna Minivan. This is what we have so far:

-A dvd player
-The following dvds: The Simpsons 15th season. The Simpsons 3rd season, The bourne Conspiracy, 007 Skyfall, a whole bunch more.
-an ipod shuffle and 3ds(my younger brother)
-and ipod touch, ipod nano 5g, and psp 2000(me)
-our moms iPad 2(she is driving so she wont mind us using it.
-my brother and I each have 3 books( I am a quick reader so that should not take long at all for me)
-both of us have a pillow pet and blanket
-snacks

Is this enough..I would like your opinion.

Take a look at the characters, the ones that are only unlockable by getting the crate, there's this character that you need 500 boomboxes(i think) to unlock him.wouldn't it take you forever to find 500 boomboxes on crates? I know you can buy crates, but that's just a waste of money, to buy 500 crates and chances are not all 500 crates have boomboxes

then there's the most expensive character there, the fresh prince something, he's pretty expensive in coins and if you don't want to pay in coins you have to pay 99.99 dollars to buy him?

I'm not sure if "scam" is the right word here…

I don't really mind it that much but at times it really bugs me, like are they for real?

I am due to buy the iPad Mini. But rumours suggest that iPad Mini 2 is gonna launch in April. Some sites also suggest iPad mini will complete 1 year before the 2nd version will be launched.( i.e. not before Oct-Nov)
What do you suggest?

My ipad 2 won't restore?

My iPad has basically died, it won't turn on when I try and turn it on and when I try to restore it, its gets almost done and says there was an unknown error. I've tried it on two different computers and I've tried restarting my computer and trying again. Nothing works. Please help

Ipad 2 doesn't work?

I have jailbroken my ipad two weeks ago and today i turned it off but when i try to turn it on it stuks on the apple logo.so what could i do? have i bricked it?
The problem is that i don't have itunes and i can't get it because i have ubuntu.Is there any other solutions without using itunes to restore it?

Would an Ipad 16 or 32 be better?

So, I'm seriously thinking about getting an Ipad. Only problem stopping me is that I don't know what storage size is best for my needs.
I would mostly use it for school work: some internet research, some word documents (maybe 8 at a time saved on the Ipad. I'll probably save them on my Mac and delete them from the Ipad after I'm done with them.)
I have about 250 songs at present that I would put on my Ipad and only have one major app at present, Kobo (perhaps with 30-35 books in the library).
Based on this information, which storage size do you think would best fit my needs?

What music could I use in my future game?

So I will be creating a game in the future, no clue on which device it will be (android ipad or pc)

When i click "install now" i agree to the terms and conditions but then it won't verify.It says something like im unable to verify because there was no internet connection but then i checked and i do have internet connection i kept pressing "try again" but it just won't work.

Can't login to my hotmail account?

I know my address. I know my password. But when I enter them to login the page just reloads to the sign in page. Also it has stopped working on other devices (such as my iPad, where it was always signed in). Should I reset my password? I think I linked it to another account, which may help reset, but I don't know.It signs in alright for another address, but not mine. Help! Thanks.

Hi I'm 15 years old and am starting my own photography business. All the photography that I have done in the past has been under the table. ( do not get on me for telling me that what I did was illegal I know it was but I was photographing for family and very close friends) however I am growing my business into doing photography events at local places and will need to accept credit cards. I am an honours student and had an appointment to see my advisor. I drove to uni (which takes me almost an hour), and sat outside his office waiting for him for about forty minutes. I then decided to email him, figuring that he might see it on his iPad. He responded about twenty minutes later saying, "Sorry! I got called out of my office at the last minute." So I left.

I'm looking for an app whose main goal is not to have you play chess but to teach you how to play chess by playing against you.Is there something like that out there?

I'm ideally imagining something where the computer plays against you, and after each full move the program tells you what move the computer made and what its purpose is, what traditional countermoves would have been expected if you are the defender, and whether your move/countermove is a known strategy.

What you actually used to have is called "a teacher". I don't have the privilege of there one being available, so I'm trying to find my best resources to get some tutoring in on my own.

Connect 2 routers and have wifi?

I use my main router, a Linksys E3200 and I have wifi on most part of my house, but there's a few parts where I don't have wifi. I have a really long cable connected to that router that goes all the way to the part of my house where I don't have wifi because sometimes I use my laptop there but now that everyone has iPads, iPods and many other wireless devices I was thinking about buying and installing a second wifi capable router to install in the end of that cable connected to the first router.

I know there are a few devices that extend the wifi signal but they do that wirelessly, but what I want is being able to connect a second router to the main router through WIRE, and make the second router transmit the signal through wifi!

My main router has dd-wrt installed, and I will also buy a second router anyways so any suggestions on any specific models would be great!

IEMF app works! Ghost radar?

Recently I downloaded the iEmf app from the apple app store for 69p (theres a free one now) and it works.It uses the inbuilt compass and other stuff to measure electro magnetic fields which are said to be given off by ghosts.At first I tested it on electrical stuff and it increases.So it works.It tends to pick up around 20-50 microTESLA when not near anything electrical anything above 60 is strong. Anyway, the way I know it works is that I was sat on my bed recording my guitar into my iPad through the microphone like normal until I played it back. Faintly I could hear a weird breathing in the background, so i thought this is a great time to test out iEMF and I said any thing over 60 was electrical.It shot to over a thousand and I know it wasn't anything in my room because other from my iPad, nothing was turned on. I later shouted my friend in and she stopped at the door shocked saying she felt weird.So at this point I was shiting myself and ran off. After that I trust this app but no one seems to have it. And I'm not the only one that had experiences with the app. After telling my cousin to get it he called me one night saying his was going over 2000 microTESLA so after reading on the Internet about salt repelling ghosts I told him to use it.So he put some on his bed (where it was) and iemf just dropped back down.So please someone get it and test it or if you have had experiences with iit tell me.

What is better? Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, iPad Mini, or Google Nexus?

Ok, I'm asking this question because of three reasons.
1.) I'm not very rich so I need to make a smart decision. I don't know much about the differences but I'll explain what I want later in this question.
2.) I did want the iPad Mini at first but the new one is coming out soon and I can't wait.Is the iPad mini still good and can last me like 4 years despite being based on the iPad 2?
3.) I am in dire need of my own technology device. Holy s*** I cannot share a laptop with my sister any longer.

So what I want is a tablet that is easy to use, easy to sync pictures, videos and songs on to. (I'm not buying songs. $1.59 for a song is stupid.) It needs to have GOOD APPS. The quantity doesn't matter as much as the quality but a few apps that I do want is Crunchyroll's app for anime, the Lava Team Story games, picture apps for editing pictures, social network apps, etc.

I also want to draw on it. I know you can get a pen for the ipad mini but I know Galaxy Note has a pen for it and that's pretty cool.

Also, I want something fast, great screen, and won't die on me in like 2 years because new ones are coming out. (at least last 4 years)

My parents are willing to use a little of the income tax on this so if I don't ask for it as soon as possible, all the money will be gone or they might change their mind later on in the year.

So what's the best for me? Yes, i'm an artist and would love to be able to draw and color on my tablet but performance, games, and stuff like that kinda come first.
