How to restore my iPad with a forgotten password with the latest update of iTunes?

I have tried to connect my iPad to iTunes to restore it to factory settings so I could reset the password. When I plug it into the computer iTunes says it can not access my iPad because it is pass code locked. When this comes up it does not give me the choice to click on the iPad to try and restore it. Can anyone help?
