Arris Touchstone sb8182 is the model of the modem and I have it connected directly to my computer as the tech told me.It is a local internet provider and he told me that I can connect it directly to my computer and that it will work wirelessly for other devices, but neither my phone nor ipad can detect the network. How would I find the network name / password and how can I connect with my Ipad? I am currently using a direct Ethernet connection to my computer and a line ran from their business for connection. There are no other ports so I am wondering if I have to replace the Ethernet cord with a different type of cord?
