My dorm suite's lock is damaged and won't work. I have put in a maintenance request to get it fixed. I do "edible art" where I bake a batch of cookies or cupcakes decorated in a "theme". This newest batch's theme was Pixar so my cookies were frosted/iced like Buzz Lightyear, Lightning McQueen, etc. After I finished the batch, I went to my floor lounge to work on a group project with a floormate who happens to be in a class of mine. After I finished, I came back to a boy exiting my dorm room with a blue face (from my frosting) and gasped. He ate my Pixar cookie that was Sulley (from Monsters Inc). I chewed him out (I was pissed at him) and the lady running my dorm had him apologize and hand over cash for new frosting. Until maintenance fixes my lock, I can't leave my room exposed and unattended. Of all the things I'm leaving at risk, my edible art is the least of it (my iPad, Jewelry, wallet, etc). From now on, I bake extra of my edible art and ask him if he wants any.
1) How do I temporarily handle being without a lock?
2) Was I going too tough on that boy?
