Are home shopping networks geared to older people?

It seems like shopping networks like HSN or QVC are really geared to older people because the deals they have on there are usually not that great like when HSN sells an iPad 2 for $679 with a bunch of crap you don't need meanwhile if you did an ounce of research you would find out that even Apple sells it for $399.It seems like they try to pull the wall over your eyes but a younger audience usually does their research before buying.So is their target audience like 50+?
