Help us solve this mystery?

Imagine you are an 18 year old girl at university. You were hungover (you live in the UK it's fine, all legal and such) so you spent the day sleeping and woke up at 12am the next day feeling much better. You have your phone with you at this point. You know you do because you decide to listen to some music and watch some youtube videos in bed. At 5am you put your phone on the desk and open your laptop and watch a film. At half six you then slip your phone into your pocket and go into the kitchen to make boiled eggs. It goes wrong when the egg cracks in the water so you go back to your room, get your porridge and make that. When you come back to your room, everything is as it should be. At 8am, you take your dressing gown off to go back to sleep for a few hours but you remember thinking that you put your phone on the desk, next to your laptop and your iPad. When you wake up at 11:30am, you put your dressing gown back on to go and make yourself a hot drink - everything looks fine - your laptop and iPad and still on the desk, but your phone is missing. You don't panic, because it may not have been on the desk when you fell asleep. But it isn't in your pocket either. You have a friend ring it, but you can't hear it vibrate either. You go into the kitchen to check if it's on the side anywhere, but it isn't. You go check the bathroom, not there either.

You can't remember if you locked your door to go to sleep (although at least 95% of the time you do it without thinking about it) so did somebody steal it? It is an iPhone, but it seems strange they would take that, and not take the iPad or the laptop - both relatively new as were given as university gifts in September whilst the iPhone is about a year old.

How have you managed to lose your phone in a locked room.

Dumbass.
