Will support for this older device soon be phased out? I had a Macbook that became ineligible for new browser after just a few years, Apple seemingly happy to have left my model of Macbook behind. However, the iPad 2 is the only one I can afford outside of the mini, which I do not wish to have. (It's too small.) Basically, I want a good laptop for under $500, and my proposed solution is to get an iPad 2 and a keyboard to go with it. I recently had to return a Chromebook that shut off mysteriously (while plugged in) after less than an hour of use, and my family has not had good luck with cheaper, Windows-based computers (e.g., Dell).
