Do I replace my iPad screen or buy a new iPad?

I recently shattered the screen on my iPad 2, but it's still in great working order. I found a reliable service that will replace the screen for $200. I've also been considering buying a new iPad instead, because it costs so much to replace the screen and I get a lot of use out of my iPad. I just got a raise at work and I'm getting a tax return, so I have the money available and could treat myself to a new iPad Air. The model I want would be $700, including AppleCare. Is it worth it or should I save the money and just replace the screen for now?
