Why does my iPad connect to my computer but not to iTunes?!

I plug it into my PC with the USB cable and instead of showing up in iTunes like normal, a stupid window that says "Apple iPad" pops up instead. (When I click internal storage, an empty folder called DCIM shows up, if that matters.)

iTunes acts like nothing is plugged in, and all the options under devices are grayed out. No error messages or anything… Just that dumb window that I have no idea what to do with.

The device and iTunes are both up to date, js.

Idk what happened, I mean it used to work fine.

Please help, I am over this nonsense.
