Is it too late to start Apple Music's free trial?

So I updated my ipad air to the latest ios version which gives you apple music. When i first opened it, i tapped go to my music instead of start 3 month trial. After a while i decide to get onto it (the first page no longer shows) and go to my profile then join apple music. I click a subscription and all of that, but it says insufficient store credit. I know that, but i wanted to start the trial! Is there any way around this? Is that it? If you dont take the one time opportunity then that's it? (I've rebooted my ipad, nothing happened)
