I'd like to know what the status is of the email problem that I read about on the Help pages

I can log into my account but can't access my inbox. I need to access my inbox so I can reset my Apple ID because I recently had my iPad repaired. It's now on the page where I need to enter my Apple ID and for the life of me, I can't remember my password. Can someone please answer in here? Thank you.
