Received a phone call yesterday. Sounded like it came from an Indian call centre and said my computer had faults and needed to receive a download now. Told him I did not have any computer problems and asked him how I got my number. He said from the phone book [I live in Spain] and told me to switch on my computer. I hung up on him. Another friend had a similar call on their Ipad.
How does this scam work, please?
Added (1). Have put this in riddles as well as in the computer category as I think people should be forewarned of these scams and it would be interesting to know how it could work.
