Are these paired data or independent samples?

a.
A pediatrician suspects the two scales in her office differ and need to be recalibrated. She takes a random sample of 15 patients and weighs them on the two different scales to assess if there is a difference on average.

b.
The Better Business Bureau wants to see if a new moving company is price gauging customers on average. They take a random sample of 30 families planning upcoming moves and has their expert price the moves as well as having the company in question price the same moves.

c.
For some preschool age children, ipads have become a source of entertainment and education. To compare ipad use among children of different socioeconomic backgrounds, a researcher takes a random sample of 34 parents in the upper quartile of household income and asks about their child's ipad use and takes a random sample of 34 parents in the second highest quartile of household income to ask about their child's ipad use. She plans to compare the average daily use time (in minutes).
